This position independently analyzes business data requirements, and designs the conceptual, logical and physical structures and organization of agency data. This position ensures that agency data models adhere to applicable enterprise and agency data modeling, data security, and other data related policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. This position provides expert consulting and support for complex agency data modeling tools, services and issues to agency project leaders, project teams, business area staff, and others. This position is responsible and accountable for the design, structure, organization, and maintenance of complex agency corporate data models, including both relational and dimensional models. Additionally, this position works with DBAs and other technical specialists to implement and support the physical data model on the target database platforms. In addition to project level data modeling duties, this position works collaboratively with other data modelers and the data management team to support a variety of data initiatives. The candidate must be able to design, model and manipulate relational database systems, data warehouses and multidimensional databases. Requires a depth and breadth of database knowledge that will help with formal design of relational databases and provides insight into strategic data manipulation.
