The candidate will work in a Scrum environment, helping to train team members new to development, and ensure SDLC best practices are followed, to build quality automation tools for an AWS and Kubernetes-based environment. This position is focused on all aspects of Charters Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, and is DevOps focused. The role will include working with other DevOps engineers to identify opportunities for automation of daily processes, and architect, design and implement that automation on time, and at high quality. The candidate must have strong skills in AWS services and architectures, Linux, virtualization, and software development in Java, Python, Ruby, or Go. The candidate will be expected to help train less experienced members of the team in day-to-day work and help provide technical leadership for the team. Automation of the infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code) is a goal to become more efficient and repeatable, so experience with a scripting language, as well as the AWS SDK, Ansible, Hashicorp Terraform, Hashicorp Packer, and the Go language are all desirable. Additional Job Details Architects, designs, and implements software for multiple knowledge areas to automate manual tasks and accelerate daily tasks. Is a strong advocate of automation and infrastructure as code, and has experience transitioning from a manual to an automated deployment model. Works closely with other DevOps team members to gather requirements and requests for additional automation that may be too complex to build on the fly. Job Requirements Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including Scrum, unit and integration test automation, continuous integration and deployment, and more Advanced Linux system administration and AWS administration skills Good understanding of client support processes and ticket management Ability to install, upgrade, manage, and maintain software tools in a Linux environment Solid understanding of and ability to apply security controls to applications within AWS Proficient in shell scripting, or Python, Ruby or Go programming Basic understanding/experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes or other container orchestration Deployment automation experience using Jenkins or other continuous integration tool Beneficial Qualifications Basic use of Ansible, Hashicorp Terraform and/or Packer tools Experience with the Netflix OSS stack (Asgard, Eureka) Application development experience Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or other monitoring tools Microsoft Azure experience   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
