Leads user research tasks for the Experience Design team Owns the creation and analysis of customer surveys, studies and interviews that address both user behavior and customer attitudes. Responsible for conducting user testing, competitive analysis, design reviews, persona building, task analysis, user story creation and user experience mapping to minimize organizational risks and ensure that design execution is aligned with customer needs and business goals. Drives collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams in our fast-paced environment Thinks creatively and strategically around business decisions and taking into account the opinions of numerous internal partners to formulate a singular point-of-view for the customers experience Build and foster strong relationships across our organization by being the subject matter expert in experience testing and research and evangelizing the discipline. Responsible for the aggregation, sharing, and communication of their findings, insights and recommendations to the Experience Team and the larger organization. Organize and plan their own meetings, lunch and learns or individual one-on-ones and to share their findings through presentations, spreadsheets and docs. Is comfortable formulating and communicating an experience strategy with the Experience Design team, Product Team, and other project stakeholders. Essential Qualifications Extensive experience in methodologies for uncovering user needs and product opportunities. A background in ethnography and cognitive science methods is helpful. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile Processes. 5+ years of experience in user research, user interface design, information architecture, usability testing, human factors, and other related disciplines within a consultative or corporate environment. Experience conducting user testing and interviewing with evaluative components (A/B testing, concept testing, usability, IA testing, etc.) as well as questionnaire design and analysis. Demonstrated success utilizing qualitative analytics tools such as UserTesting.com, User Zoom, Full Story, Google Analytics and other experience analytic tools. Working knowledge of user-centered design (UCD) principals such as design simplicity, user effort reduction, navigation mechanism optimizations, iterative design stages. Is both a conceptual thinker with strong experience design skills, is knowledgeable and up to date on industry trends while also keeping their finger on the pulse of technical disruption in the retail industry. Has a holistic understanding and ability to assess the competitive landscape in an experience-first mind-set.
