This position will support technology architecture activities (design, strategy, research, governance to design, etc.) with a specific focus on the area of database technology. The architect in this role will work with partner architects, program managers, and leaders to deliver on strategic projects of key significance to the corporation. Top 3 requirements: Technology Architecture experience (NOT data architecture) Must understand the database platform- At least one of Oracle, SQL Server, Db2, MongoDB, or MySQL to substantial depth. Experience with more than one would be a big plus. Must understand how to follow a process (SDLC) Experience with inventory systems in general (Could be third party) 5-7 years in the field, or a four year degree + 3 years of experience in the field. Description/Comment: Develops and maintains business system and corporate architectures. Responsible for working on medium to high architectual impact projects, recommending exceptions to the Enterprise Architecture for low to medium impact projects, reviewing and approving low architectural impact designs and directing implementation of the architecture for multiple applications or a component family. Conducts complex technology and system assessments for component architecture. Acts as a lead in component architecture and participates in enterprise architecture activity. Provides in-depth technical and systems consultation to internal clients and technical management to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Architecture.: 7+ years design and planning experience in systems, applications or IT Architecture. Additional Job Details: This position will align to the Technology Infrastructure Architecture - Analytics and Database team and will provide support for development and maintenance of the database technology architecture across the client. Primary skills and experience are required in these areas: technology architecture, strategy, and design, database platform technologies, and communication with and influence of strategic & executive decision makers within a large enterprise. Prior experience navigating processes in a large enterprise will be very helpful. This role requires a high degree of proactive and independent work, thus being a self-starter capable of operating in a dynamic environment is also key. This role will have specific alignment to supporting an enterprise critical redesign of a core inventory system.
