Application Architect will develop and communicate detailed technology architecture and implementation strategy for solutions. The Application Architect must understand business objectives, translate them into application design and transition the application into an operational status. The Application Architect will require sound object-oriented expertise, excellent design and programming skills, good abstraction skills, and the ability to deliver results. The Application Architect will be a part of the IT Technical Architecture Group and will work with project managers, technical leads, IT department staff and vendors. Establishes and maintains the architectural governance gates within the SDLC to ensure the adherence to the application architecture and coding standards. Accountable for ensuring appropriate walkthroughs and reviews are performed. Participates in problem-solving mentoring on complex systems. Development work includes, but is not limited to research and development, proof of concept and/or skunkworks initiatives. Builds and maintains a long-term development/upgrade roadmap for all IT supported applications. Education/Experience/Requirements: A Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of ten to twelve years of increasingly responsible experience in information technology with an emphasis on application architecture design & development. Full lifecycle experience in designing digital marketplaces, B2B portals, B2C portals and multi-channel / omni-channel digital experiences is required. Property/casualty insurance, financial services and/or jewelry industry experience is desired, but not required.
