They will focus on implementing the new federal background check requirements while ensuring current Wisconsin background check requirement continue to be met. The Project Manager will serve as the liaison between BECR staff and the staff of DCF Bureau of Operations and Planning, DCF Bureau of Information Technology, county certification workers, DOJ and the FBI. The Project Manager will ensure the completion of an automated background check system that will meet the new federal and existing Wisconsin background check requirements while efficiently meeting the needs of BECR and Wisconsins child care providers. The individual must have strong project management as well as excellent team engagement and customer service skills. The individual in this position will: • Be the face representing the licensing and certification program on the Background Check project to all bureau and county agency staff, childcare providers, as well as The DCF executive management. • Be responsible for overall project management on all aspects of the project, and develop project charters, work plans, deliverables and other project artifacts. • Work closely with the project sponsor and BECR Operations Section Chief to understand and prioritize project tasks and assist with resolving complex technical issues. • Understand business objectives and work with related teams to facilitate resolution when problems are identified. • Assume a leadership role on an effective team and coordinate the work of the project team to meet project milestones. • Possess excellent communication and organization skills needed to build and maintain effective teams. • Have 3-5 years project management experience leading large and complex system projects. Professional certification is required. The position is for a 12-month contract (from start date) with DCF option for an additional 12-month renewal. NOTE: Travel outside of Madison, WI will be required to meet with stakeholders across Wisconsin.
