Vehicle use will be compensated at the rate authorized by the Client at the time of use. (Mileage rate is currently $0.45 per mile.)] Description: This position will require the systems administrator to oversee and assist in the implementation of digital logging recorders (DLR) located at approximately 260 public safety answering points (PSAP) throughout the state. Responsibilities: • Serve as an liaison between the Department and its third party vendors project managers; • Attend all project meetings with the Department and/or its third party vendors • Test workstations and servers for proper operation by using diagnostics; • Require component removal (e.g. power supplies, hard disks and mother boards) to the field replaceable unit level (FRU); Disassembly to the FRU level of some workstations and Servers for the vendors inventory; • Adhere to proper ESD precautions and disassembly procedures; (The FRUs will be stored in ESD bags and clearly identified as to what type of machine the FRU came out of.); • Maintain an accurate inventory of the FRUs , Servers and workstations; (The inventory will be housed at the State 911 Department in either its Taunton or Maynard Facility and the disassembly of the workstations and Server will occur at both facilities.); • Relocate the Servers and Workstations between the facilities as needed; • Perform a joint walk-thru with the DLR vendor and various PSAP personnel to identify the needs for a successful installation; • Monitor installation of the new DLR; • Perform system testing for acceptance; • Perform support for LAN, hardware, software and O/S for the Department in Taunton and Maynard. • Provide all documents, files and other paperwork completed as part of this project in electronic form for archival on the Departments shared server; and • Appropriately sort and file all paper documents in the Municipal files or archive according to the Department Systems Managers direction. Required Skills: * The proposed candidate shall have a minimum of four (4) years of experience within a LAN and PC environment. * Should have experience with configuring and troubleshooting TCP/IP, LANs, Windows based PC and servers, network cabling installation, wireless CDMA devices, SNMP, PC arbitrators, antivirus software, wireless 802.11 and Windows security * The proposed candidate shall be detail oriented and able to write accurate reports. * The proposed candidate shall demonstrate a proven track record for providing superior customer service. * The proposed candidate shall be proficient and skilled in the use of Microsoft office applications.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
