The Technology Manager ensures that the architecture adheres to the Connecticut Enterprise Architecture - Technology Architecture (CTEA-TA) and the Global Justice Reference Architecture (JRA). This full-time position will report to the CJIS Program Manager. This is also a formal System Development Methodology (SDM) role. The individual who fills this position should have solid systems architecture and design skills and the ability to transfer the architecture vision to the delivery team. The Technology Architect must effectively balance: n Leadership for technology architectures within the state. n Preparation for and business acceptance of new technology approaches. n Inclusion of legacy systems and data with a minimal impact to their current environments. n Bachelor of Science Degree (Masters Degree preferred) in computer science n Ten years experience in software engineering of which five years must be directly involved as a principal technology architect. n Criminal Justice domain knowledge This focus requires the capability to build trust and nurture relationships with CJIS partners technology staff while maintaining the most current architectural approaches to industry standards for CJIS systems. n NIEM – National Information Exchange Model n GFIPM - Global Federated Identity and Privilege Management n NCIC – National Crime Information Center n SharePoint n Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) n Enterprise Architecture n Java n Hardware Architecture Solution Design n Software Architecture Solution Design n Solution Integration The business responsibilities include: n Being accountable for providing the Technology Manager with the architecture and design for the entire CISS environment. n Being knowledgeable on all facets of SDM and assisting the CISS team on SDM compliance for CJIS activities. n Fulfilling the SDM Enterprise Architect duties. n Fostering and ensuring cooperation and coordination among the various justice partners and Information Services (IS) organizations within the state and local agencies. n Ensuring compliance with CTEA-TA, JRA, National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), and other criminal justice industry standards in all areas of the CISS environment. n Assisting in the training of the CISS project team and other state and local agencies in the methods and approaches of JRA, other criminal justice standards, and CTEA-TA. n Overseeing design activities and ensuring compliance with the CISS architecture. n Ensuring vendor adherence to the methods, approaches, and standards described in the CISS architecture. n Providing assistance to the RFP selection team for technology or architectural reviews and recommendations regarding the completeness and quality of vendor solutions. n Providing technology consultation to the agencys and vendors technology teams. n Contributing to and providing support for the Executive Directors development of a recurring Strategic Technology Plan. n Contributing architecture requirements to the Technical Requirements Workbook.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
