Job Description : Position: POS Lead Developer Experience: 5+ years Petco is looking for a technically forward thinking, POS Lead Developer to join the Point of Sale application team. The candidate is an experienced technology specialist responsible for architecting, designing and implementing solutions for applications technologies. This role is a hands-on Java developer, technical contributor, subject matter expert and a tech lead position of the enterprise POS application. Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle and prepare releases to production. Research and evaluate technologies to determine solution design options and trade-offs. Coaching and mentoring junior developers to ensure effective and sustainable solutions. Understand the business priorities and opportunities to drive business growth. Qualifications: Proven hands-on Java application development experience. Minimal 5 years of experience of hands on development and experience taking on tech lead responsibilities. Experience with Microservice Architecture and Domain Driven Design. Experience with developing and using web services, SOAP, REST APIs. Solid SQL development skills, specifically with Oracle and/or PostgresSQL, Aurora Serverless Database. In-depth knowledge of retail POS processes, including customer facing (sales & returns management, promotions & pricing, loyalty, etc) and back-office (cash management, opening & closing, TLOG processing) Experience working with Cloud technology and IaC (AWS preferred) Experience with PCI & PII security standards. Experience with Eclipse, configuration management and defect tracking tools. Experience in infrastructure engineering components (e.g. OS, networks, device management, LDAP, active directory, etc) Experience with CI/CD tools (such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Circle CI, Azure DevOps, AWS Cope Pipeline/Commit/Build – GitLab CI/CD preferred) Experience with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (such as Cucumber, Robot, Selenium, JMeter) Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
