This person has a track record of consistently rendering clear technical judgment and routinely considers architecture-level, project-planning, and other project-level issues. This person ensures that projects are conducted in ways that benefit the project objectives, the people participating in the project, and Fiservs long-term interests. This person is innovative, consistent, and contributes beyond the assigned tasks. This person proposes design approaches for review and agreement from peers and his or her supervisor. This person has worked on one or more shipped products, and has experience in each of the basic software development lifecycle steps needed to ship a product. This person has made a commitment to the field of software development and identifies his or herself as a software professional. This person is committed to a self-study program, actively reads books and journals, and occasionally reviews papers for journals, proposed industry standards, and so on. This person sets an example of a “professional software developer” that others within Fiserv and throughout the software industry can follow. The Software Developer - Senior is familiar with industry and Fiserv practices and therefore can work very independently. Developers may provide training to clients on product usage and the implementation processes. This person consistently provides high quality customer service for internal and external customers. Scope and Accountability: This Software Developer - Senior works under limited supervision with the goal of developing reliable and maintainable software. The developer has experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle (from concept through support) and could contribution to Fiservs development life cycle and methodologies. This individual is accountable for the quantity and quality of their work, their teamwork and internal and external customer relations, and the growth of their technical skills to match future requirements of the position. Essential Functions/Job Duties: 1. Develops and reviews requirements, ensuring that there is agreement on what software is to be built. 2. Synthesizes design, incorporates review comments and provide critical review of other designs. 3. Often responsible for creating and documenting the architecture and design for several interrelated components, which are subsequently developed by other engineers. 4. Writes production-quality code and is able to implement entire subsystems or feature sets independently. Software developed should have very few defects, should be robust in the face of environmental errors, should perform at or beyond requirements, and should be able to be understood by more junior developers. 5. Builds and tests code to validate functionality against requirements. 6. Facilitates code inspections and design reviews. Mentors others on software development practice. 7. Participates in establishing large and/or complex project goals, milestones and timetables. 8. Accurately estimates and tracks personal work. Helps other engineers create accurate estimates. 9.
