Uses existing methods, tactics, and tools to implement database related tasks following the companys defined software development life cycle. Essential Duties: -Produce logical and physical data models, schemas, data dictionaries and ER diagrams. -Collaborate with others to develop store procedures, indexes, user-defined functions and views to maximize query performance. -Provide reusable source code templates for accessing the databases and generating store procedures. -Perform database-related performance and tuning tasks. -Perform ongoing maintenance and administration of the development and staging databases for EDW. -Perform database capacity planning. -Produce database-related documentation for the deployment plan, installation manual, operations manual, and disaster recovery plan. -Provide on-call production support. -Participate in team meetings to plan, review and design solutions to Business needs. -SQL Server development/support for Application Engineers and Quality Assurance on Team Projects. Includes modeling, coding, unit testing, code review and change control. -Resolve SQL Server issues in development, QA and production environments. -Develop, promote and adhere to company database standards. Includes standards for security, coding, templates and connectivity. -Expertise in programming complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, user defined functions and triggers. -Interact with development team to identify data needs and potential issues as well as help design and implement solutions to the source system applications. Minimum Requirements: -A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which professional capabilities have been clearly demonstrated. -Clear and effective technical writer / documenter. -Extensive experience in database design, data analysis and data modeling. -Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of analytical processes. -Proven strong negotiating and consensus building abilities. -Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations. -Extensive experience in multidimensional data modeling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, and renormalized models.
