Requirements Gathering Examine all aspects of an application or architecture to ascertain its technical requirements and alignment with other resources and business requirements. 1. Determine and document technical requirements for applications based on business requirement definitions. 4. Provide input on technical requirements and participates in reviews. 5. Development Create application code that delivers both on the requirements of the solution and on the quality and architecture requirements set forth by the unit and Commonwealth. 1. Define best development strategy based on available resources and tasks needed. 2. Ensure coding tasks are accurate, updated, and that current status is effectively communicated. 3. Design, develop, document, and ensure proper storage of application code in alignment to architectural standards defined by the unit and Commonwealth. 4. Design, develop, execute, document, and ensure proper storage of unit test code in alignment to architectural standards defined by the unit and Commonwealth. 5. Validate and document that coding items perform within scope of technical requirements so as not to disrupt the environment or other applications within that environment. 6. Ensure proper alignment to architectural standards defined by the unit and Commonwealth. 7. Ensure code is properly packaged, versioned, and configured for release into an environment. 8. Document initial and all subsequent implementations of an application. Testing Conducts validity of software applications to ensure successful implementation. 1. Define best testing strategy based on the available resources and tasks needed. 2. Ensure testing tasks are accurate, updated, and that current status is effectively communicated. 3. Coordinate with user groups to discuss testing strategies and scheduling. 4. Prepare for and execute test cases to track, classify, and prioritize bugs for both new and existing system functionality. 5. Design, develop, execute, document, and ensure proper storage of automated test code in alignment to architectural standards defined by the unit and Commonwealth. Operations Improve and monitor applications in the production environment, while providing support and administration, to ensure the reliability and usability of applications by meeting the needs of users and adhering to changes in architecture. 1. Ensure all applications are monitored on a timely basis and implement corrective measures to ensure application functionality. 2. Serve as technical owner of all applications by documenting, researching, and auditing existing development deliverables. 3. Provide production application administration by configuring and supporting daily user activity, and rectifying problems as required. 4. Research and document new and existing development environments and tools. 5. Have working knowledge of on-going efforts to better plan for future architecture requirements and new services. 6.
