Description: The Application Architect(AA)/Test Automation Engineer position is a senior technical role directly involved with software development and implementation, supporting technical decisions made at the application level and evaluating specific technical implementations within an overall systems architecture. Within a solution, the AA will evaluate how to best meet requirements for customization, configuration, and integration. Across solutions, the AA will help determine the best technical location for new functionality and data analysis or storage. The AA will implement and review development work and is heavily hands-on, participating as a senior developer and code reviewer on project teams. This AA role will have direct responsibility for building and supporting automated testing, both in code (eg unit testing frameworks like junit, or javascript test frameworks like Jest) and in external testing frameworks like ReadyAPI, Test Complete, and Selenium. This support may include implementing these frameworks, writing tests within these frameworks, and helping other developers and quality assurance staff use these frameworks. It may also include integrating automated testing within GitHub pipelines or other CI/CD processes. Experience translating business use cases or functional requirements into test cases or scenarios is highly desired (eg BDD or TDD). Responsibilities: • Provide automated test support for APIs, custom applications, and web applications. • Support quality assurance staff with test automation practice and tools. • Responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across the system and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the development teams on test automation. • Responsible for developing application code as assigned. • Stay up-to-date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as these relate to test automation, software quality, and development architecture issues. • Research and implement best practices/frameworks/capability models that will control costs, provide higher quality, and/or increase predictability of service delivery. • Research new technology and development tools to remain abreast of current and emerging technology. Skills and Abilities: • Experience with automated test frameworks like Selenium, TestComplete, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, JMeter, etc • Experience with javascript testing frameworks like Jasmine, Mocha, or Jest • Java, Node, or Python experience • JavaScript experience • DevOps process experience • Experience with Git • Experience with AWS web services, GitHub, GitLab or other DevOps tooling • Experience with REST API development • Experience with BDD, TDD, Cucumber, or other test driven development tools/approaches • Experience documenting systems • Experience with Agile Development • Experience or knowledge of security principles • Experience or knowledge of develops principles • Experience evaluating new technologies against business requirements • Senior level experience creating application architectures • SQL and data modeling experience   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
