Job Description : 5-7 years of experience in EDI Sterling Systems Administrator (60%) and Developer (40%) Sterling 5.2.4. Anyone w/ experience upgrading to/from that version is a candidate. Looking to go to Version 6. Would look at people who had 5.2.6. Want to go to Version 6 this years. Administration skills: Troubleshooting system issues, maintaining system application health. Sterling Control Center used for monitoring tool. Required skill. Currently using 6.1.1. Responsible for more of the application than the database and servers the Sterling solutions run on. Traditional systems administrator experience would come in very handy. Red Hat Linux 6.9.1. Wanting to upgrade to a virtual solution in the near future using version 7. Will be an on-call rotation as well. Will play a big part in the database and release update. DB upgrade from 9.7 to 11.1. Using all transmissions protocols: SFTP, i-MAP, VAN, AS2 (primary protocol). This is how our vendors communicate with Werner. Daily responsibilities: Check system health first thing in the morning. Address any performance issues or system failures. Troubleshoot root cause analysis of system failures and issues. Best way is to go to UI screen “Troubleshooter Page” which will tell you all the processes that are interrupted, manual interrupted, or altered. Go by each status and determine how to fix each process/issue. Click on individual processes and check which step is interrupted. Secondary skill will be EDI Development side of the house (40% of the time) All EDI Development done in Sterling. Data Mapping using Sterling Map Editor 8.1 (version not so important here, the mapping experience is the most important) Business Process Management (BPM) Graphic Process Modeler (GPM) Documentation experience. When we have planned outages for patching exercises, etc. they need to be able to follow processes of bringing down and turning back up the system so its in compliance for in/external audit purposes. Agile shop from a PM standpoint, needs to be able to work in that environment. Will be converting over to JIRA solution - familiarity would be a plus.
