Job Description : Software Engineer - SharePoint - Growth/BPO Program

UCare | Minneapolis, MN

6 Month Contract

This position is responsible to design, develop, implement, test and analyze software applications in an Agile environment as part of the digital web service team, supporting web, SharePoint, mobile and other digital initiatives in a mission-focused organization. Research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. Also analyze and remediate software defects and provide recommendations to enhance UCares digital presence, including the development of a new website(s) and improved functionality for members.

·Collaborate with project leads, business analysts, end users and third-party contacts to understand their needs and create compelling software solutions to satisfy them.

·Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing software solutions and applications.

·Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects in an Agile environment.

·Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications as well as documentation for users.

·Follow Information Services Security, Change Management, Standard code development, and other policy and procedures.

·Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.

·Collaborate with members of the IS department to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.

·Prepare and maintain related technical documentation

·Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelors degree in Computer Science preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of SharePoint experience.

Technical knowledge of programming languages, including JavaScript, C#, AJAX, ASP.net, .NET Framework, WCF web services.

Experience working with enterprise applications and in integrated development environments, including Microsoft Visual Studio and TFS.

Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

Design, develop, and maintain custom components required for Portal sites and Team Sites (master pages, workflows, InfoPath forms, web etc).

Design, develop, deploy, and support out-of-the box development tools and features of SharePoint 2013/SharePoint Online environments.

Migrate older versions.

Design and develop workflows (OOTB, custom workflows using SharePoint Designer).

Strong technical knowledge in current web development technologies including JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5.

Create and edit Web Pages within Microsoft SharePoint leveraging standard Web Parts.

Hands on experience with SharePoint Object Model, Visual Studio Workflows, Master Pages, custom Site Templates, List Templates, Event Receivers, Timer Jobs, Site and Application Pages, WebParts.

Web development experience using C#, NET, XSL, XSLT, JQuery and AJAX.

Create and manage a variety of SharePoint Web Parts to include SharePoint Lists, Site Pages, Document Libraries, etc.

Design, develop, test, tune, and implement database objects and any supporting SQL scripts.

Working knowledge of SharePoint Administration.

Creating and editing SharePoint Site Pages and using graphics and content editors to render site pages.
