Job Description : Data Analyst Level 2 The Data Analyst works within project teams to bring technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of their data. He/she engages with the business to understand how to use data to enable better decisions. Acts as a liaison between IT teams and business partners to ensure data requirements for operational and analytical needs are met. The candidate must support design and development of data related activities within multiple teams. The Data Analyst must have a working knowledge of data formats, including but not limited to file-based data, relational databases, data warehouses/marts and No SQL platforms. Essential Job Functions: Discover non-functional requirements, risks and enterprise strategy deviations while working with project teams. Identify appropriate data sources for application use. Profile and analyze data Create or validate system context diagrams, logical data models, and integration designs. Generate data flow diagrams (DFD) Create or validate data mappings Conduct technical reviews to ensure the application data models and flows have been correctly implemented. Participate in Integration/System testing Additional Job Functions: Lead and participate in the design and implementation of large and/or architecturally significant applications. Champion company standards and best practices. Work to continuously improve software delivery processes and practices. Work independently Consistently create deliverables on time and with high quality Continually strive to improve skills sets and capabilities thru formal and informal means. Build partnerships across the application, business and infrastructure teams. Develop programming specifications. Design, code and unit test application code using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices. Complete estimates and work plan independently as appropriate for design, development, implementation and rollout tasks. Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation remains current throughout all phases of the SDLC. Communicate with the appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are managed appropriately and that completed assignments are of the highest quality. Assist other personnel on assignments including mentoring or providing on-the-job training to more junior associates. Mentor team members in software development principles, patterns, processes and practices. May direct the day-to-day work activities of other team members. Minimum Position Qualifications: 6 - 8 years experience leading IT initiatives. Thorough knowledge and understanding of systems, procedures, and technology/project life cycles.
