Because these are disparate systems running independent of each other, there is no way to have a global view of all wells in the Commonwealth, either from a reporting or mapping perspective. There are a number of data quality issues. This is particularly true of water well data. A number of wells share the exact same location coordinates. Quite a few wells have no location coordinates. The Well Iinformation System utilizes a database that stores the same information in multiple locations within the database. Hence, this resource will need to aid DCNR in bringing this data more into alignment. The wells applications have an unsatisfactory reporting mechanism. The Bureau is repeatedly asked to provide data to external stakeholders because the data extraction and reporting mechanism in place does not provide the information required by the stakeholders. Poor data conditions are contributing to this issue. There is a lack of integration of images and data. For oil/gas wells, the images are stored in a system separate from the data. This requires the user to either print the image or to navigate between systems to view the data in both places. For this assignment, DCNR is looking for skilled data dictionary analysis and design and data model analysis design. Familiarize and then maintain T&G well databases. Responsible for data dictionary backup and recovery. Responsible for applying current or creating needed new definition of standards of well data dictionaries. Perform performance tuning. Monitor database performance and space requirements. Schedule and monitor end of day jobs. Assist in coordinating software releases. Communicate accurate and useful status updates. Manage and report time spent on all work activities. Follow quality standards. Ability to work in a team environment Complete assigned tasks. Strong communication skills; both written and spoken. Business systems analysis and design experience. Logical data modeling techniques. Production environment Tools/Utilities. Knowledgeable in data analysis and database management techniques. Scripting for data cleanup and alignments. Execution of all responsibilities with little direct supervision of project manager. Administration and scripting experience in relative platform. Author shell scripts to perform back up, restore, and monitoring tasks. Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the team.
