Job Description: Data Architect Starbucks 1 Year Contract This person is responsible for planning activities that define the information needs of the enterprise and design the data blueprints to meet those needs within the context of all enterprise architecture and the connections with information systems, information technologies, and solutions. Primary objectives are to plan with vision and foresight to provide high quality data; to identify and define common information requirements; and to design conceptual structures and plans to meet the current and long-term data requirements of the enterprise. This role requires the ability to facilitate meetings with Architects and with Business Analysts in order to capture information about applications and information in order to map the connections between the two. This will involve taking a taxonomy or list of definitions and terms from the Information Architecture practice and working with a relevant Enterprise Architect to put that in the context of their domain. This will involve meeting with diverse groups across the technology organization in order to drive additional detail, making facilitation and asking probing questions a key prerequisite for success. Ideal is contract to Daily schedule: • Work with Information Architecture to draft data models which are ready to use and contain a complete set of definitions • Work with the enterprise architecture team to do a first round of data model to application mapping to the application portfolio using Excel • Develop data model details working with engineering teams • Report and dashboard development • Socialize models with enterprise architects and incorporating inputs into a refined model • Socialize key reports & deliverables with Starbucks Technology stakeholder leaders • Develop and maintain an integrated, subject-oriented, conceptual enterprise data model that represents key data produced and consumed across the enterprise • Develop and maintain cross-references mapping elements of the enterprise data model to organization, function, and process business models • Develop and maintain cross-references mapping elements of the enterprise data model to information systems, business applications, and data-oriented information technologies • Identify gaps and opportunities around Data Management practices • Review & approve models that demonstrate effective data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence practices • Review & approve models that demonstrate effective data integration • Review & approve models demonstrating effective meta-data management • Review & approve taxonomy, data topic, and namespace standards • Review & approve content and document management standards • Stay current on data management industry trends and data models relevant to the retail and Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR) industry • Define and publish data management standards • Assist in facilitating and coordinating data governance activities • Share knowledge and importance about the business value   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
