The CCCP and the North Dakota Cancer Coalition (NDCC) are committed to creating a Cancer Plan that is: • Data-driven, evidence-based, and includes measurable and realistic goals • Attends to equity and includes perspectives of diverse stakeholders • Aligns with existing state and federal efforts • Accessible, clear, and easy for to understand. The finished Cancer Plan document should use formatting, font size, colors, and be organized to allow for most individuals to read and understand the plan. For example, we want to make sure individuals with visual impairments (e.g. color blindness, myopia, etc.) are considered in the final product. The North Dakota Statewide Cancer Plan will need to be developed with the participation and input of the CCCP and NDCC, as well as their partners and stakeholders across North Dakota. Below is a list of the main activities that we envision for the entire Cancer Plan revision process. • Establish key stakeholders, roles, and working groups or teams to guide the process • Develop necessary guidance documentation, procedures, timeline, contingencies, parameters, checklists, tools, etc. • Determine the intended use and users of the Cancer Plan • Decide on high-level content of Plan (main “buckets,” areas, goals, or topics) • Develop goals and objectives • Develop strategies • Finalize goals, objectives, strategies • Draft layout of the Cancer Plan • Identify layout of the Cancer Plan • Write the Cancer Plan • Review and edit Cancer Plan • Obtain final approval of Cancer Plan • Disseminate Cancer Plan • Select NDCC priorities (implementation task after plan is completed) This process and associated activities will require a lengthy timeline that may span more than one year. The proposal should be broken down into multiple phases that detail each phases activities, timeline, and budget.
