The duties of this position can be broad and may include such tasks as troubleshooting network systems (LAN/WAN/wireless) and other devices, such as servers and networked printers; assisting with enterprise level systems and devices; adding and removing individuals from the list of authorized users, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, monitoring usage of shared resources, and handling malfunctioning equipment. The Network Analyst will be responsible for working on projects, systems, and/or issues of medium to high complexity, and will be expected to provide daily operations support, maintenance, administration and reporting for components related to the networking infrastructure. This position requires ownership of complex issues to support Department business. 5 Education Bachelors Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. 6 Experience 1. Must have experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012r2. Knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2016 is a plus. 2. Must understand local area networks and how they interconnect with endpoint devices. 3. Experienced in network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions 4. 3 to 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance and administration 5. Experience in Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Problem Solving, Strategic Planning, Multi-tasking, Quality Focus, Coordination, Technical Understanding, Quick Study, Technical Zeal 6. Experience in documenting processes, workflows, and diagraming networks. 7. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation systems and applications 7 Primary Job Duties/ Tasks This resource will primarily be tasked with performing networking infrastructure support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementing project deliverables for the State Materials Office Information Technology team including, but not limited to, the following: 1. Designs, configures, installs and troubleshoots network devices (including wireless) to meet the functional objectives of the business. Monitors network performance and adjusts network equipment as necessary to provide optimum performance. Troubleshoots network problems and outages, schedules upgrades, and collaborates with network engineers for network optimization. 2. Involved in the configuration and maintenance of physical and logical networks. Maintains a secure environment and network infrastructure in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures and practices. Monitors network for security threats or unauthorized users. Analyzes security risks and develops response procedures. Ensures anti-spam and virus protection is in place. Implements, maintains, and monitors network intrusion prevention measures. Maintains security documentation as required. 3. Assists in the design of the network architecture and infrastructure. Generates and maintains technical documentation as assigned. Creates network topology diagrams for network segments, the routers connecting the segments, servers, gateways and other major pieces of networking hardware.
