Summary: Premise Health is currently seeking candidates for a full-time Database Administrator position in our Franklin, TN office. The company is the manager of worksite-based health and wellness services. Essential Functions: This person will work with a cross-section of Premise Health departments, including other DBAs, systems analysts, developers and the management team, as well as third-party vendors. Position requires periodic after-hours support for production database environments via an on-call rotation with other team members. Duties will also include contributing to other technology projects requiring DBA expertise. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Must be a team-oriented individual with a results driven attitude. Design, create and maintain highly available, secure SQL Server database instances. Setup, monitor, and maintain disaster recovery solutions for production databases, document updates and maintain database backup, recovery, and archival strategy. Responsible for synchronizing and migrating data and database objects across non-production (development, QA, staging, UAT, etc) and production environments. Participate in project estimates for database activities. Design and document database architecture (data modeling), including logical and physical layers. Participate in performing database performance analysis, capacity sizing and optimization, architecting solutions for replication, mirror and performance optimization. Create and execute scripts for various database maintenance activities, including task automation. Adhere to processes and procedures for non-production and production environments. Perform database tuning via monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance. Perform archival, backup and recovery processes. Design and implement database schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions. Interact heavily with stakeholders. Focus on educating stakeholders on the value of the teams capabilities, expertise, knowledgebase and delivery capability to solve specific problems. Consult with internal teams and stakeholders to best understand strategic and tactical goals, current issues, challenges, budgets and resources. Participates in the release management process as it relates to Change Management. Set up data sharing and disk partitioning. Monitor systems and platforms for availability. Monitor backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover. Install and test upgrades and patches. Implement security and encryption methodologies. Evaluate and recommend new database technologies.
