The User Experience Designer will provide architecture, design, support, administration, configuration, and development using SharePoint and .net. S/he will contribute both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement. A strong candidate will also have experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment and a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies. The position reports to the Team Lead, Enterprise Information Architecture. Duties and Responsibilities: Meet and collaborate with clients to identify business, information architecture, and user requirements. Bring strong creative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to translate conceptual ideas (business needs and user goals) into interaction and design solutions. Access data from multiple sources (product requirements, technology constraints, UX research, web analytics, etc.) and synthesize it in order to develop efficient user scenarios, taxonomies, classification schemes, navigation systems, design patterns, etc. Recommend and execute modifications to the SharePoint environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance. Apply knowledge of usability, human factors, and the UX process to complete user experience of the product. Create and effectively present UX deliverables (wireframes, workflows, prototypes, etc.) to explain and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholders. Develop and deliver front-end design assets (graphics, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XAML, MasterPages, etc.). Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the SharePoint environment, .net applications, etc. Help define UX performance metrics and perform post-development usability testing to validate business needs and user goals. Create, maintain, and share project documentation and UX guidelines. After hours on-call support is required. Build rapid interactive prototypes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor (4-year) degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 5 or more years of progressively more responsible SharePoint administration including multi-farm environments. Experience using SharePoint 2010 and 2013. Experience using SharePoint Designer and deploying solutions. Experience designing search interfaces for search-driven applications. Working knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and XSLT. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to reach goals. Demonstrated ability to relate to all levels of the user community, translate technical language to lay audiences. Experience in requirements gathering, extraction, and documentation. Ability to set and manage priorities to ensure that project deadlines are met. Strong understanding of user-centric and responsive design principles. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to provide effective customer service. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. Desired Qualifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) is preferred. Microsoft enterprise and/or Fast search configuration.
