POSITION SUMMARY: As a Teradata Database Administrator you will the opportunity to work with a team in the engineering, architecting, and administration of our Teradata environment, role will involve working directly with Architects, Data Modelers, Business Analysts, Developers, Data Scientists and other Database Administration teams regarding performance tuning, database features, big data technology integrations and design methodologies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Manage and maintain all Teradata production and non-production database system Perform production implementations and work with application developers to tune their SQL for standard coding practices and generate DDL. Contribute to improving and creating DBA policies, procedures and standards Proactively monitor database environments Capacity monitoring and planning Provide trending analysis and management reporting for databases Troubleshooting, performance tuning, database workload balancing Optimize Teradata database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost. Take ownership of performance tuning opportunities, deploy various optimization methods to mitigate risks to performance and communicate them to the team Define and modify workload management standards (TASM) based on the needs of the day in production and explain the changes effectively to the team Responsible for backup and recovery on DBMS. Responsible for design and correct functioning of BAR and DR solutions Security audits, which includes designing and implementing roles, profiles and accounts. Ensure compliance in related tasks with company and regulatory policies and procedures Provide routine on-call support Support application development timelines by reviewing and assisting in the implementation of designs and/or incremental changes to database definitions Work within the database team and with vendors to resolve incidents and mitigate risks Responsible for query, CPU & disk resource requirements for new applications and extensions to existing systems Good to have understanding on Presto, QueryGrid, DSA Notes : Interview times set for Wednesday, 2/14 between 2PM EST-3:30PM EST PLEASE READ job description and NOTES-Candidate should be a senior level DBA, have good communication, performance tuning on Teradata database. Ideal candidate should have 4+ years of SR. DBA experience with at least 2 of those years focused on Teradata.
