Description :

Under broad supervision, install, and maintain networking software and hardware components. Document all systems and data flow to include IP Schema, port maps, appliance configuration, and security boundaries. Monitor performance and administrate all networking and enterprise security applications, which includes but is not limited to, physical and virtual LANs, firewalls, Anti-Malware platforms, Access Control Lists, and network access control systems for wired and wireless networks. Owns assigned tasks.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
May train subordinate staff in proper procedures of day-to-day operations
Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Provides operational and user assistance to address software and hardware problem
Tests or coordinates testing of new installations or upgrades
Supervises specific access levels for each segment of the network
Assists in the scheduling, installation and testing of new products and improvements
Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
Analyzes network maintenance and enhancement needs and recommends solutions
Installs and supports network operating systems for assigned area
Provides advanced level support to resolve end-user problem
Recommends standards, specifications and methodologies for network operations



Entry Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in information technology or related field from an accredited college or university AND Five (5) years of network infrastructure experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Cisco Certifications: CCNA and CCNP Routing and Switching and/or CCNP Security Firewall.
Demonstrable experience administrating Firewall, Routing, Switching and Wireless equipment.
Working knowledge of IronPort Security Appliances, Cisco Advanced Malware Protection, OpenDNS, and Meraki and Cisco Security Appliances,
A strong understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Infrastructure and Security.
A Microsoft Certifications: MCSE: Infrastructure, and/or MCSE: Security is highly desirable
A strong working knowledge and demonstrable ability to administrate CheckPoint Security Appliances, and ISO 27001/NIST standards, best practices and guidelines.
Five (5) years or more experience and verifiable success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
Five (5) years or more experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
Excellent knowledge of telephony systems, including PBX, VoiP and Mobile Wireless.
Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
