The Lead will manage the team of UI developers/designers and collaborate with PMs, Digital Strategy, User Experience, BAs and Online Development teams to build conceptual and functional prototypes. The prototypes need to be built using existing UI framework and standards and must be cross-browser tested, production ready for Java developers. The prototypes need to reflect key business rules and flows in a way that helps clarify intended customer experience for project team and senior management. In the early stages of the process, the goal is to promote design efficiency, by helping designers to visualize and helping business sponsors to understand whats being designed. The prototype will make it possible to test usability and at the same time, help developers understand exactly whats being planned, and so aid estimating, technical design and development. Responsibilities: Combine advanced UI development expertise with information architect and user experience knowledge to lead the design and development of conceptual and functional prototypes Partner with Business Analysts, PMs, User Experience, Digital Strategy and various development teams, providing all groups with a clear, accurate, evolving prototype and UI code. UI code built must be pixel perfect and cross-browser tested, including IE6. Present developed prototypes to various teams to get approval for the project. Provide primary liaison to senior managers while guiding UI developers in their direct interaction with User Experience and development teams Creatively figure out how innovative ideas can be implemented and tested Build quick proof of concepts to enable quick testing of new business/product ideas Build quick concepts to gain support for new initiatives by helping senior management share product vision Maintain UI design pattern library and leverage it consistently to build prototypes. Maintain a global style sheet that is used in all projects and production sites. Plan resources, estimate UI development projects and manage resource allocation in clarity Hire and onboard resources as needed Research and apply latest technical innovation in UI space to existing projects to enhance user experience Must have: Experience managing UI development in a large scale web operation Experience managing 5+ resources and 5+ projects simultaneously Expert User Experience knowledge combined with Advanced UI development skills/expertise Advanced knowledge of HTML5/CSS3, jQuery Be able to manage team of developers as well as be hands on coder. Experience with SVN and/or Git Experience maintaining single global style sheet used in multiple websites in production. Ten plus years experience working on UI development/design projects for Web and Desktop applications Financial industry background in either retail brokerage, retirement or banking/lending Skills/Experience: 10+ years experience working in financial industry. Experience from other industry is welcomed as well Experience working in a large scale web operation team and offshore team Experience working in waterfall, iterative and agile fashion Advance knowledge of web standards, accessibility and usability Hands on experience with HTML5/CSS3 and jQuery Expert knowledge of jQuery best practices and building custom widgets and libraries.
