Develops technical solutions to business problems and work collaboratively with the business to determine how best to implement new requests. Develops, maintains dynamic object oriented eCommerce application code with a strong emphasis on J2EE architectures and patterns. Participates in Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Retrospective meetings. Designs, develops, and unit tests product extensions, interfaces, applications and data conversion modules for reliability, scalability, manageability, performance and re-use. Creates design documents supporting the agile development process. Contributes to reduction of technical debt through code refactoring, re-architecture & design. Participates in the overall solution testing as needed. Acts as subject matter expert on areas of the application and provides support as necessary. Reports status of work to the agile team and quickly escalates to the Scrum Master when impediments are faced. Continuously learns new skills and share / apply new learning with the rest of the team. Identifies opportunities to simplify application and break new requests into minimal working parts. Reports time and expenses accurately and on-time. Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work with a globally distributed team. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Soft Skills Works well both individually and as a team member. Communicates pro-actively and effectively with all the team resources. Possesses excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, issue resolution capabilities; meticulous & methodical. Is a self-motivated learner who quickly picks up new technology with minimal guidance. Has strong personal time management skills including prioritization, estimating/scheduling, tracking, reporting, and problem escalation. Technical Skills A minimum of 2+ years of recent WebSphere Commerce development experience preferred. A minimum of 5+ years software engineering development experience, 5 years of which are Java/J2EE specific, is required. OO design experience and experience applying design patterns and UML familiarity is essential. Expert experience in Java technologies including: J2EE Servlets, Struts 1 & 2, JSP, Struts/Tiles, SWT, JDBC, EJB, JMS. Nice to have: Spring MVC, Velocity, Thymeleaf. Hands on experience creating and consuming web services (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, etc). Unit Testing and Test Skills experience: JUnit, JMeter, etc. Familiarity with queuing systems. Preferred: MQ Series, JMS, Oracle 11.01. Familiarity with XML, XSD, and XSL. Proficient with front-end technologies: JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, XHTML, CSS, DOM. Nice to have: AngularJS, Bootstrap Good working experience with standard JS frameworks like jQuery and Ext JS. Experience with RDBMS, Oracle strongly preferred Familiarity with NoSQL. Preferred: Solr/Lucene, Endeca. Application server experience: WebLogic, Tomcat. Nice to have: Solaris, RedHat. Configuration Management/source control tools: Git, Ant, Maven, bash.
