Job Description Administrator: Client/Server Network Architectures, Windows Server, Unix, Troubleshooting

Description :

Duties:
- Design, provision, and deploy new servers, both virtual and blade based.
- Perform Unix/Linux user account creation & maintenance, including Power Broker & Active Directory interface via Vintela.
- Install and maintain backup client software.
- Interface with application owners & DBAs to install and support various applications including SOA, PeopleSoft, Oracle & Documentum.
- Interface with SAN administrators for LUN deployment.
- Inventory & monitor control of servers & systems via Remedy database.
- Document development & training for other team members as needed.
- Support ticketing queue to prioritize and respond to requests as needed.
- Troubleshoot network, system, and application issues as needed & be able to report on the cause & cure of the problem.

Required Skills:
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in the IT field supporting systems and services. An understanding of client/server network architectures including authentication and authorization considerations.
- Experience supporting Windows server technology, tiered applications, and complex enterprise systems that include geographically disbursed users.
- Able to fulfill 24/7 support of on-call incidents and implement off hours scheduled maintenance.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assess and troubleshoot systems infrastructure issues.
- Ability to operate independently where appropriate and understand when to escalate issues to management.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills.
- Interact with various levels of staff and management.
- Expert level knowledge in the design, deployment, maintenance and support.
- Successful applicants will be asked to show proof that they are legally eligible to work in the United States.

Desired Skills:
- Experience with Unix and Linux system administration, including HPUX and Red Hat Linux.
- Experience with Beyond Trust Power Broker, Oracle Database Server.

Education:
- Bachelors degree is preferred, but comparable accomplishments (at least 4 additional years of experience) in Systems Administration will be considered.
