The Raleigh Level 1 support team is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of Server, Web and Database technology infrastructure across Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific as a Global Service. The Production Services Sybase/MSSQL Server DBA is responsible for the support and maintenance of Sybase & MS SQL systems and accountable for the troubleshooting and resolution of all the support issues/requests. The primary focus of this role is change, configuration and support for dev/UAT and production. Position requires shift work on a rotating schedule which includes early, late, weekend, and holiday coverage. Support coverage for this site will be from 7am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Provide day to day first level technical and developer support for critical business and trading systems Assume primary ownership for the production tickets submitted and work with the application and support teams to completion Demonstrated ability as an SME in Sybase ASE and MS SQL Server. This includes advanced features like Sybase replication, MS SQL replication and MS SQL Linked servers. Provide diagnostic support and act as interface to vendors for all failing components within the database Evaluate and recommend solutions to users encountering issues Ability to work alone against deadlines and SLAs Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision Infrastructure Management- promote infrastructure stability, mitigate risk, resolve incidents in a timely manner, follow established escalation protocols, and follow SOPs Collaboration- Collaborate with peers and teams globally (AM, EMEA, and APAC) to promote stability and to resolve issues Meet team performance standards and metrics such as client REMCS feedback, OLA/SLA, self-solve rate, incidents, RFCs. Initiative: Identify and drive areas of improvement, automation opportunities, and contribute to initiatives and projects that support continuous improvement Essential Sybase ASE server 12.5 and Sybase Rep Server Knowledge of Unix (Solaris) and Windows Basic Unix commands 1-3 years experience in Sybase/ MSSQL Server DBA administration Desirable : Sybase ASE server 15.0 Very good working knowledge of MS SQL server Experience with BMC Patrol Shell scripting Perl Excellent written and oral communications skills 1-3 year experience in financial industry Experience working in a mission critical, enterprise environment.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
