Install and configure systems such as retail software packages and core operational infrastructure applications. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Contribute to and maintain system standards. Research and recommend innovative solutions and develop scripts to deliver automated approaches for system administration tasks. Perform daily system monitoring through alerts and dashboard, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders. Note: Resource must be available to work onsite at client facility in Raleigh, NC. No remote work. Required Skills: 4+ years experience installing and configuring applications servers across multiple OS/platforms including Windows Server 2008 or later, and Windows 7 through 10. Knowledge of commonly-used troubleshooting tools in Windows Server 2008 or later, Windows 7 through 10 PC hardware knowledge Experience with Virtual Server Architecture Strong problem solving skills and goals driven Ability to manage multiple projects at a time Microsoft Active Directory Knowledge. Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft client and server operating systems and associated installation, configuration, support and management best practices. Comprehensive understanding of software installation technology and processes. Extensive experience in scripting languages and automation of installation, deployment and administration tasks using Windows command line, power shell, resource kit tools, C#, .Net, VBA. Functional understanding of TCP/IP networking, name resolution and troubleshooting network and application connectivity in a large scale, distributed enterprise. Extensive experience in project start-up, deployment and on-going support with an emphasis on n-tier client server applications. Ability to specify hardware and software selections at an enterprise or project level to include experience implementing and supporting: servers w/fault tolerance and remote management; client platforms and their remote support; WLAN technology; operating systems, application software and middle ware. Comprehensive understanding of data formats & processes needed to automate the installation and localization of distributed systems (i.e. ability to automate systems that require generic and site specific data).
