Its consisting of 300+ user migration. They are migrating to Vmware Horizon as their VDI. Running Windows 10 and various applications. They have already started this migration in the pilot phase and are experiencing various challenges. We need to seek out a Virtualization engineer with experience in migrations. Current state: pilot stage. 10 or so workstations done, working through the kinks. Next phase: roll out to majority of users across the organization. 3rd phase: configuration of hardware for engineers that do higher level design work and have different graphics card requirements. Need: someone to help with a “health check” of what is already rolled out and help with additional planning on companywide roll out. Most of the users just need thin clients rolled out, not tough to do. The config work is more difficult. VMware is already implemented and all servers are virtualized. The transition to VDI hasnt been as easy as they thought though. The need: o Health check of current state of the roll out and image o Analyze issues and help them draw up a game plan for the rest of the roll out. o First: finish roll out of standard users. Shouldnt be tough. Roll out thin client and base image. o Next: roll out to labs. 5 computers in each, 35 total. Each has moderate graphics needs, more than standard users. These are used by clients when they come in for training on software. o Next: roll out to filed and service technicians. 35 total. Mobility needs with these. o Next: roll out to Engineering group. 35 with high end graphics needs and some have mobility needs for work-from-home flexibility. o Lastly: some special cases, 20 +/-, need to figure out how to address these. Top skills: · VMware · Experience with multiple implementations like this in the past (VDI).
