Remote/work from home is an option with this position. The Cloud Adoption Engineer to serve as a recognized subject matter expert and facilitator to the development community to move to a new hybrid cloud platform. The right candidate will be a mixture of a technologist and mentor. The role is to act in a consultative role to the wider business facilitating the move to fully automated IaaS and platforms. An understanding of full life-cycle web operations / virtualization / Devops / Development / Operations and infrastructure is key. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Key Accountabilities Work with development teams to facilitate the move to the cloud. This includes an initial appraisal of current cloud awareness/readiness Use deep understanding of the application architecture to assess and analyze bottlenecks, hotspots and barriers to scaling/automation. Works with the development teams to design and implement proof of concept and full-scale transformations that enable automation, continuous integration/deployment and auto-scaling to end-user applications. Help customer assess and design applications which are suitable for a more agile infrastructure environment and consult on key cloud architecture principles such as build to fail, commoditization of compute vs. data, stateless applications etcc Understand complex IT and business customer challenges and apply technology and product portfolio knowledge to solve problems in a consultative manner. Perpetually seek to improve and refine the DevOps Practice methodology, deliverables, and team roles and alignment. Ability to travel as required. Produce technical documentation (how-to) and videos Technical Credentials: Applicants should have a strong knowledge in the following areas and tools and can show how these tools can be combined to deliver end to end process transformation: * Virtualization * Web Operations * Networking * Load Balancing / Firewall * RESTful APIs * Configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc. * Continuous Integration & Deployment Tools * Code management tools such as git/svn etcc * Linux system administration skills * Windows system administration capabilities with the above skills desirable The candidate should also have working knowledge and experience in the following development languages and frameworks: * Ruby/Python * HTML/CSS/Javascript * JSON/XML/YAML * Node.js/jCloud * Experience in Java/.Net/PHP/GOLANG a bonus   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
