POSITION PURPOSE:
The role of the Business Systems Analyst is to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, document and manage the requirements for projects that provide new or enhanced technology solutions supporting the internal operations of the company. As part of the Corporate Systems team, the Analyst will serve as the conduit among internal Fiserv corporate clients, technology, and end user community.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports To: Business Analysis Manager – Corporate Systems
Peers: Corporate Systems Team
Primary Working Relationships: Corporate Systems Team and Corporate Department Staff

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with the product manager or project sponsor to document the products vision and the projects scope.
2. Identify project stakeholders and user classes. Document user class characteristics.
3. Identify appropriate representatives for each user class and negotiate their responsibilities.
4. Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, user cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints.
5. Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely.
6. Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and quality, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those who must base their work on the requirements.
7. Define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements.
8. Represent requirements using appropriate views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, etc.
9. Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.
10. Participate in requirements prioritization.
11. Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents. Participate in peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly.
12. Enter, manipulate, and report on requirements stored in a requirements management tool. Define requirement attributes and facilitate their use throughout the project.
13. Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout the project.
14. Manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools.
15. Establish and implement effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process. Assist with the development of the organizations requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools.
16. Implement ways to reuse requirements across projects.
17. Identify ways to assist product management in product planning through requirements development and analysis. Propose new product features and updates.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Undergraduate degree in business, computer science, or a related field preferred.
