Business Systems Consultant 5- 1 Year Contract

Position Description: Experience Level: 4 yr degree plus 7-10 yrs exp Description: Acts as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. Prepares specifications for system changes. Recommends and initiates systems testing. Acts as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff.

Customized Job Description for this position The BSC will take responsibility for successful specification of configuration and enhancements for an application used to declare emails as records within Wells Fargo. Responsibilities include :
1. Working with subject matter experts to refine business requirements for the system.
2. Developing a deep understanding of the capabilities of the system used to store records, including available configuration.
3. Combining the requirements and the understanding to specify application configuration, enhancements to be built for current use, and enhancement requests for the vendor. At a minimum this will include additional reports on top of what is supplied by the vendor.
4. For configuration and enhancements, developing the detailed specification of what will be done. This includes user interface design for the enhancements.
5. Author the design document including configuration in Functional Specification Document (FSD) form, with assistance from the technical team.
6. Working with the development and test teams by clarifying requirements and design.
7. Participating during development as the user representative: periodically performing UAT-type tests of functionality to develop expertise and find issues with the configuration or specification.
8. Provide periodic demonstrations of the system under development to the subject matter experts to get feedback on design

Minimum Qualifications
1. Five years recent experience as a business systems consultant working on application specifications and configuration (not project management work).
2. Three years of recent experience working entirely remote.
3. Experience with enhancements to vendor applications demonstrated by experience on projects for configuring and extending vendor packages.
4. Proven relationship management skills and the ability to rapidly establish and leverage key working relationships with vendors and companion/partnering organizations.
5. Strong verbal & written communication skills.
6. Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills.
7. Expert skill level with Visio, PowerPoint, & Word.

Additional Qualifications
1. Experience within Wells Fargo, especially TOG, is preferred.
2. Experience with records management field is preferred.
3. Experience with configuring Documentum is preferred.
4. BSC-level experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is preferred.
