Client needs someone who can interview this week.] Description: Sr. Software Engineer position in Java EE platform working in the Menlo Web team in the Portland, OR office. This job will be focused around Java EE technologies, designing and building Web applications. The primary functions of this job include participating in interpreting business needs into technical requirements, collaborating with other functional experts to design Java EE based solutions. Additionally this position requires the ability to multi-task and to complete projects under tight timelines. Responsibilities : •Lead all phases of new Java EE web product development within a small team. •Responsible for overall web product quality on any new development or enhancement •Schedule all project activities and manage risks throughout development cycle •Review and clarify business requirements for new application development •Collaborate with other functional area experts to design complete solutions •Write the technical specification and present to the business stakeholders for approval •Review technical solutions/designs provided by others •Direct other technical resources in technical solution effort •Provide input for project timelines to team lead •Provide mentoring to peers and daily guidance/management within a team environment •Communicate the status of projects to Project Manager and business stakeholders •Actively participate in the design of projects or review proposed designs to ensure application integrity. Qualifications: •Minimum of 8 years in Software Engineering role •Minimum 6+ years in Java EE Web Application development •Strong background in Object Oriented design •Demonstrated ability to apply design patterns to daily work and effectively communicate them •Demonstrated ability to develop high quality fast to market solutions •SQL is a requirement •XML is a requirement •JSP, HTML is required •JavaScript, JQuery is preferred •SOA / Web Services / EJB Programming is a requirement •Experience with two or more Web Application Frameworks (MVC, Struts, GWT, Spring, JSF) is a requirement •Experience with I18N and Localization is preferred •Agile Development experience is a plus •Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non technical people is a requirement •Solid planning, design and implementation skills •Strong written, oral, and presentation skills •Strong interpersonal skills •Demonstrated ability as a self-starter and active participant in new initiatives •Deliver specific / configurable solutions to general requirements •Ability to work effectively with others and build relationships both within Menlo and among various levels of customers. •Ability to multi-task among competing priorities •Ability to work independently as well as part of a team structure   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
