Develop and maintain project documentation as required. The candidate will also work within a corporate information technology operations organization supporting the day to day operation of VMware EXS and maintaining and updating VMware EXS environment standards in an efficient cost effective manner. Provide reports and metrics as needed to support engineering requirements analysis and growth planning. Education: A bachelors degree is preferred, but comparable accomplishments in VMware ESX environments will be considered. Requirements: 5+ years experience administering and optimizing VMware ESX in a corporate data center environment while supporting hundreds of virtual servers and applications. Experience in optimizing VMware ESX for utilization of SAN storage. Experience in configuring VMware ESX clusters for ease of management, support of data bases, UNIX and Windows OS. Experience in designing VMware ESX environments to scale to customer demands. Experience supporting VMware disaster recovery solutions. Required Skills: ESX 4.0/4.1 (vSphere) Deep Knowledge/or Certifications, HP, Dell, IBM, Cisco UCS BLADE SERVER experience, VMware Site Recovery Manager experience, experience in planning and leading many migrations. Desired Skills: Experience supporting large data center migrations, Nexus 1000v experience Tiering Experience in production, Overall Data Center Transformation from Old HW to New HW/Blades/SW vCloud Director experience, vCenter Operations experience, vBlock & Unified Infrastructure Manager (UIM) experience . Deliverable: Successful migration of VMware environment operations to the new data center VMware Migration planning and documentation, successful migration execution of each VMware move event, successfully supporting the corporate information technology operations organization in the day to day operations and maintenance of the VMware environment.
