Job Description Specialist: BI 4.X To Support CLIENT Systems., Install/Configure/Test Business Objects Enterprise., System Integration Testing Across CLIENT Reporting Systems., Business Objects BO Content And Testing

Description:

Five years experience or more required with Business Objects upgrades, MySQL, Crystal Reports conversion, Data warehouse integration and MS SQL upgrade support.
The Contractor will be updating the DDD Web managed jointly by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing and the Governors Office of Information Technology. Work must be performed in Denver, Colorado unless mutually agreed between the parties.
The work will involve Clients (HCPF/OIT) BusinessObjects Enterprise Upgrade, Installation, Configuration and Setup of BI4.x environments (Production only) to include:

Leading practice recommendations and mentoring surrounding the following areas if defined in the BI Environment Scoping for Upgrade phase. Items determined by CLIENT to not be of interest during Phase 1 will not be covered.

Security model design to implement new features and best practices, and to account for changes done with row level security in Universe and reducing the number of reports on the system.
Leveraging Auditing to monitor your systems
BI security architecture for secured information delivery internally and externally
Business Objects security architecture roles and rights management practices and mentoring
View Time Security recommended practices to deliver report consolidation and role-based security to meet security requirements
Content self-service and delivery practices
Mentoring on Publications
Life-cycle management best practices
Disaster recovery practices and recommendations
Practices and approaches to leveraging the Business Objects Software Development Kit (SDKs) to customize Business Objects front-end and to integrate BI content delivery into other applications
Business Objects clustering, backups, and maintenance recommendations (i.e. CMS database, File Repository, etc.)
Overview of system monitoring, performance measurements and metrics
Overview of general/typical troubleshooting techniques
Sizing and long range capacity planning and considerations
Mentor CLIENT staff in reporting from CLIENT data sources as time allows
Provide any additional services as needed on a time and materials basis.


Required Skills:


* Upgrade, Installation setup and configuration of Business Objects * Enterprise BI 4.x to support CLIENT systems.
* Install/Configure/Test Business Objects Enterprise.
* Verify server setup and correct configuration.
* Upgrade existing content to BI 4.x
* System integration testing across CLIENT reporting systems.
* Business Objects (BO) Content and Testing
* Upgrade reporting content and test key reports.
* Implement auditing tool to evaluate system performance and sizing.
* Utilize auditing tool to identify reports that are not in use; recommend potential reports to eliminate.
* Modification of existing row level security defined in Universe to allow for table based security.
* Mentoring to cover key Business Objects Enterprise administration skills.
* Explain differences between BO 3.x and BI 4.x
* Conceptual Business Objects Enterprise Architecture Overview.
* Report processing overview: Discussion about benefits and considerations for On-demand versus scheduled reporting.
* Discussion of customized GUI functionality and possibilities.
