The position will fall into the category of Software Engineer 1-3. The candidate should have experience with performance tuning, analytics, ETL and clustering and be “fully fluent” with developing T-SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures. This candidate should be able to handle all aspects of a SQL database from a managerial and developer standpoint. The candidate will work collaboratively with CJIS technical staff, State of Connecticut agency system administrators, outside consultants, product vendors and internal business experts to enhance and maintain the Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Database Infrastructures. This individual will maintain development and production environments, support development activities, and provide implementation support ensuring that results meet established needs, goals, and timelines, industry best practices. Technical Experience: * SQL Server 2008 R2/2012 experience »SSRS, SSIS, SSAS * Oracle 11g databases on Linux platform (RAC preferred). * Windows 2008R2 and 2012 server platforms * Linux server platforms (Redhat preferred) * .Net Framework experience with C# and/or VB * Use of structured methodology (RUP experience a plus) to produce design artifacts * Use of design tools such as ERWIN, background in logical and physical database design * Extensive experience developing and analyzing Stored Procedures, Views, and Triggers * Proficient with analyzing performance issues (indexes, constraints, keys, triggers, etc.) * Shell scripting experience knowledge in languages such as PERL, Unix shell, Windows shell or PowerShell * Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) knowledge * 2 years experience with Java This position requires the candidate to be able to build trust and nurture relationships with CJIS partners technology staff while maintaining the most current approaches to industry standards for CJIS systems.
