Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies (including wireless). Translates business requirements into network or process designs. Plans and recommends network hardware, systems management software and architecture. Approves and modifies network design and architecture to ensure compliance. Configures and maintains routers, switches, and hubs for the network systems (including wireless). Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise. Monitors network performance, ensures capacity planning is performed, and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. Performs troubleshooting procedures and designs resolution scripts. May take on role of Project Leader for special enterprise-wide assignments. 5 Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. 6 Experience · 5-7 years of work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing planning, architecture design, engineering (hardware and software) and optimization. · 5-7 years of experience administering a large, multi-site WAN/Cloud networks · 5-7 years of experience working with WAN dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) · 5-7 years of experience administering WIFI networks 7 Primary Job Duties/ Tasks 1. Design, implement, and support of enterprise, WAN, Wifi, VPN technologies and Internet related systems in a large, multi-site environment. 2. Design, implement, and support routing infrastructure using common routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and support firewall/DMZ security infrastructure. 3. Provide top tier troubleshooting and support for various WAN, WIFI, Cloud and Internet issues. 4. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, transmission and signaling links into complete network configurations. 5. Serve as a technical resource for others throughout FDOT, providing subject matter expertise. 6. Create technology roadmaps to achieve both short-and-long-term complex business requirements to forecast capacity and resource needs. 7. Responsible for in-depth knowledge within Network domain (i.e. WAN/Extranet/ Intranet/Wireless/ Firewalls, SDN, Cloud Connectivity Solutions, etc. 8 Job Specific Skills and Abilities (KSAs): 1. Expert knowledge of WIFI networking technologies 2. Expert knowledge of network security and firewall administration 3. Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networking 4. Expert knowledge of network equipment in a large enterprise environment. For example, Cisco, HP etc. 5. Expert knowledge of Cloud networking provisioning and deployment in AWS, Azure, Google 6. Expert knowledge and extensive experience administering a large, multi-site WAN network 7. Expert Knowledge of dynamic WAN routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) 8. Serve as a technical resource for others throughout FDOT, providing subject matter expertise. 9.
