They will be expected to work across multiple business units to create and maintain technical documentation. They will produce a wide variety of technical publications including instructional materials, technical manuals, product documentation and the like for use by both the technical and business community. They will interview subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization. 5 Education Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or related field. Or equivalent work experience. 6 Experience A minimum of 2 to 5 years of business writing or technical documentation experience is required. 7 Primary Job Duties/ Tasks The submitted candidate must be able to perform the following duties and/or tasks: 1. Coordinate with multiple business units to gather information on Departmental systems and technical environments. 2. Interview subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization. 3. Produce and maintain technical documentation on information technology systems transformation and translate into business process impacts and documentation. 4. Produce and maintain instructional materials and prepare briefing materials. 5. Perform oversight reviews of system design documents and identify potential solution gaps, risk areas, and business recommendations for improvement on behalf of business units. 6. Translate technical and/or complicated systems information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences. 7. Use required tools, including but not limited to, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Visio to perform job specific activities. 8. Facilitate documentation workshops, including the necessary planning, communication, and follow-up related to workshop execution. 9. Facilitate documentation review/testing by target audience to verify documentation clarity and user acceptance, including managing the disposition of feedback. 10. Develop documentation to graphically depict technology to business linkages, gaps, and impacts. 11. Maintain documentation library structure for user retrieval. 12. Create and implement change management criteria to maintain documentation accuracy. 8 Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): 1. Ability to lead independent project support efforts with an enterprise perspective 2. Ability to translate strategic direction into tactical action. 3. Excellent communication skills in interacting and collaborating directly with business units and technology vision 4. Ability to use office automation tools (Microsoft Office 2013, SharePoint 2010 and 2013, Email/Calendar, etc.) to graphically depict technological concepts impacts to or realignment of business processes. 5. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize work assignments 6. Skill in interpreting and communicating technical information to business and business to technical both verbally and in writing 7. Ability to research, develop and manage technical documentation in accordance with the Departments standards 8.
