Job Description Consultant: MS Office And MS Exchange/Active Directory, not found, Application Support, CompTIA A+ And MCP – Microsoft Certified

Description:

Under limited supervision, provides professional-level-1 technology support to one or more offices under direction of the Manager of Support Services. This includes end user support of PCs, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices. Works with Infrastructure and Applications teams on application and network troubleshooting and deployment.
Perform a broad range of operations research analyses assignments requiring unique, creative, innovative uses of techniques, advanced approaches, and/or new technologies
Analyze, identify and define user problems and coordinate solutions
Provide project communication with management, developers, and end users for the purpose of having a common understanding of project expectations/results
Maintain enterprise software by ensuring patches are applied in a coordinated and timely manner for the purpose of creating reliable technology solutions
Learn a variety of new software and enhancements and maintains current knowledge of trends, developments, and products
Leads the development and documentation of software functionality
Attends a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
Assists the database administrator in maintaining database operation to ensure integrity of data
Installs, analyzes and troubleshoots as necessary desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, monitors, peripherals, network, servers, phones, and switches
Valuates new computer hardware, software and processes in office environment working in conjunction with other IT staff
Sets up SOS staff on a required applications working together with the Infrastructure and Applications team
Responds to Windows OS, Exchange/Outlook, IE supported applications and other supported software problems
Provides user support on eNet, cGov and MyLO and other supported specialty software applications
Works to maintain current inventory of all equipment within office(s)
Responsible for ensuring technology is provisioned for new hires
Support the roll out of Elections, Corporations and Licensing division initiatives in a reliable and timely manner
Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; identifies and involves appropriate internal or external expertise when appropriate; works proactively, addressing things before being forced to by events; accommodates new methods and procedures.
Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with users and peers
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external agency customers, and other related contacts
Research responses to questions and ensure that information provided is accurate, current and is in compliance with departmental policies
Respond to all requests in a courteous and professional manner
Perform all other duties as assigned

Competencies:

Strong knowledge of desktops, laptops and mobile devices , as well as network equipment.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds
Some travel required (Macon based position)
Strong knowledge of MS Office and MS Exchange/Active Directory
Demonstrated problem resolution and task management skills
Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations


Required Skills:


Bachelors degree in related field and one year of area specific experience OR four (4) years of area specific experience.

Preferred Certifications:
CompTIA A+ and MCP – Microsoft Certified Professional Current certification required – or demonstrated equivalent experience.
MCSA – Microsoft Certified Systems Adm
