This individual will help define software and infrastructure development best practices with a heavy emphasis on automation. Serve as a mentor to establish well defined DevOps disciplines. Responsibilities/Duties/Function/Tasks: Supports existing application infrastructure to improve and maintain application stability. Manages administrative tasks related to the position of DevOps Engineer. Supports departmental internal controls and regulatory issues. Proposes change to methodologies, procedures, and software development lifecycle to ensure continuous improvement and infrastructure stability. Mentors and supports IT in the design and construction of efficient and stable solutions. Works with business partners and project managers to create efficient release management processes. Documents and communicates developed solutions to others in IT. Provides leadership on various application development initiatives. Provides tactical support for project management as assigned. Stabilize existing enterprise application technologies and propose opportunities for improvement to internally and vendor developed applications. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in relevant field plus 5+ years or Masters degree in relevant field plus 5+ years of system design or equivalent experience. Excellent development skills in technologies such as Java, SQL, JavaScript, scripting languages such as Powershell or Unix Shell (BASH). Experience in financial services industry preferred. Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns, application architecture, and the software development lifecycle. Experience with automated test, build, and integration techniques. Experience with Java frameworks. Experience with version control tools such as Git and TFS. Experience in development teams using automation associated with continuous integration, deployment and release management. Experience with Agile methodologies and principles. Knowledge of developing visualizations. Excellent data oriented design principles. Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Jenkins, Docker and VMware. Familiarity with tracking systems such as ServiceNow or Ivanti and potential integrations for change management. Strong verbal and written communications skills that promote effective working relationships across IT teams. Ability to decompose complex problems, troubleshoot issues and communicate solutions to the team and other stakeholders. Ability to communicate to all levels of users (internal and external), strong problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership. Ability to positively engage, self-motivate and possess a strong desire to learn. Ability to complete tasks on set budgetary parameters and targets.
