This position is responsible for the enterprise systems architecture, hardware/software specification, hardware/software recommendations, acquisition, installation, engineering, configuration, and maintenance of the Boise State University (Boise State) networked enterprise Linux systems. Expected Deliverables : Duties for this position include administration and management of Linux servers (Cisco UCS), NetApp storage management, Disaster Recovery Management, enterprise level security management and all Linux based applications in the Technical Operations area. The incumbent will perform specification, installations, patches, upgrades, and enhancements to assigned equipment and services. The person will perform hardware specification, diagnosis, reporting, troubleshooting, and provide both short term and long term solutions for assigned equipment and services. Individual will support backup and recovery processes for file, file systems, NetApp environments, servers, networked services and enterprise level security/disaster recovery in the event of Linux server or Linux network problems. Individual will work cooperatively with other University system and network administrators to provide mutual help, cross training, disaster recovery, information and security patches. Skills : Red Hat Linux version 5 experience Oracle 11g on Red Hat Linux version 5 Need to have VMWare setup and experience with the toolset Net App experience with performance tuning for databases Follow Boise State procedures and standards for server and OS setup. They would be building out servers, installing Operating Systems and other applicable software. Monitoring and tuning current environments.
