DMV uses an IBM mainframe system at the core of its current operational system to deliver the services. The DMV is migrating the services to a new system, however in the interim period DMV requires skilled and experienced mainframe programming staff to understand, maintain and enhance the current system until the current system is retired following the new system launch. Required Skills: 1. 5 years mainframe programming experience, including, Developing, reading and understanding COBOL programs and data dictionaries; Understanding of data type storage concepts and data communication between disparate systems; Programming of major enhancement features and bug fixes to existing systems. 2. Ability to communicate technically (verbally and in writing) with other developers, system architects and technical managers is crucial. 3. Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with non-technical business subject matter experts, stakeholders and project managers for clarifications, to define rules, and to provide explanations is critical. 4. Prior experience with the following systems is a must, including Work ticket management system – LanDesk; Datacom database; Gener/OL CICS application generation system; Panvalet and Roscoe development environments; 5.
