The person filling this position will work as a ScrumMaster on a Java development team working on the creation and qualification of the software needed to implement the Medicaid Readiness Initiative within the Department of Health and Welfare. We are a product team of developers, QA experts, analysts, product owners, DBAs, architects and lean/agile leaders who are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to assist with the ongoing improvement efforts. Were pretty good at the basics of agile software development but can always use new ideas about how and where to improve. We are continuously improving and get excited about results and outcomes we achieve through those changes; whether that means moving towards continuous deployment, using Test Driven Development, implementing test automation, employing pair programming or growing leaders throughout our organization. We are seeking a person that leads by example rather than by dictates and knows how to bring out the best in people. This person is not afraid to deal with conflicts. He or She knows when its good to help the team say “No” and when to help the team push for more results. In addition, were looking for someone to act as a champion in terms of sharing Agile knowledge across the organization. Whether it be organizing 1-day open spaces for our agile community, or organizing cross-team workshops, the goal is for this person to continue to promote an Agile environment around our larger product team. Agency Expected Deliverables Education: Four year college degree or equivalent technical study and subject mastery Experience: Two plus years of relevant ScrumMaster experience • Role Description: Act as Scrum master with a focus on guiding the team towards improving the way they work. • Facilitating and/or supporting all Scrum Events; Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective. • Supports the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to fulfill customers needs and exceed expectations. • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example. • Guiding and Coaching the Scrum Team and organization on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products to our customers. • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization. • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right people to remove them. • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving. • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. • Facilitating discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution. • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information. • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining (aka grooming) and managing the product backlog. • Supporting and educating the Development Team   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
