Responsibilities: This individual will join small team of dotNet and java developers in support of the Centers applications. The successful candidate will be able to quickly come up to the speed on the critical dotNet applications and be able to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of these applications. During this contract period we will make an effort to standardize the versioning of several of our older legacy applications. Required Skills: * Minimum of five years of programming experience and/or a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Science related field and/or Business and Accounting plus experience. At least 3 years in a senior programmer position. * Working experience and knowledge of development software including Visual Studio Enterprise, ASP.NET, C#, VB, .NET; JavaScript, Microsoft SQL Server; and other Open Source/ Open Standards develop tools (Java, J2EE). * Responsible for the full application life cycle. Develops software engineering specifications. Develops and upgrades applications, statistical reports, and supervises development of processing and reporting databases and applications. Utilize knowledge of data collection methods and quality assurance procedures to review, test, install and support new applications. * Has a working knowledge of software and systems security. * Experience working with very large databases * Provides support, maintenance and refinement of new and existing systems. Provides staff training when necessary. * Responsible for all coding and file conversions needed to meet annual changes in national data standards or state regulations. * Assist other analysts/programmers in all aspects of software development and maintenance, including responsibility for all final testing and implementation aspects of the system. * Knowledge and experience developing database (SQL server 2000, 2005 and 2008) applications. * Basic knowledge of recognized practices, theories, and methods of system analysis, programming technology and development of complex computer applications. * Ability to solve problems, including gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing data. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, and agency officials. Must work well both independently, and as part of a team. * Good written oral communication skills. * Knowledge and experience working in both Windows and Linux environments. * Experience in development of multi-user Internet/Intranet applications.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
