Amazon Web Services will be the designated cloud services provider for this project. DOR will be required to post a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to engage professional technical services to create the Data Lake and Data Warehouse. That engagement is expected to begin in early 2021. As advance preparation for this upcoming AWS Data Lake Data Warehouse project, DOR is looking to immediately hire a proactive, detailed oriented and hands-on Project Manager – Technical Lead with a proven track record of success managing projects around cloud migration and setup. This Project Manager – Technical Lead will provide technical coordination to complete essential groundwork for the AWS Data Lake Data Warehouse project including: AWS workspace setup, securing IRS Federal Tax Information cloud computing authorization, and enabling core DOR systems to extract data that will ultimately feed the future Data Lake. This Project Manager – Technical Lead will begin work as soon as possible, with the objective of completing key milestones prior to the start of the AWS Data Lake and Data Warehouse project activities encompassed by the RFQ. Responsibilities: • Responsible for the overall planning and management of cloud workspace setup • Define project scope and objectives and ensure that project stakeholders expectations are in-line with project scope and deliverables. • Develop, manage and maintain a detailed Work Plan/ Project Schedule. • Manage the day-to-day project activities, actively monitor project performance, measure / track progress, make adjustments as needed and identify areas for improvement to remove blockers and keep the project on track. • Analyze and Identify resources needed to reach project objectives, coordinate internal and third-party resources and creatively manage potential resource constraints in an effective and efficient manner to successfully execute the project. • Understand complex technical scenarios and requirements and ferret out obstacles to progress and suggest alternative strategies and directions. • Responsible for reporting status of the Project to Business Management, including the articulation of impediments, risk analysis, risk mitigations, timeline and budget impacts. • Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of project communication. Communicate and interact with DOR business representatives and Executive/Senior Management and Project Team members on status of specific projects. Produce project meeting minutes and project reports. • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project planning and execution. • Successfully manage the relationship with the business, technical team and vendors and all stakeholders • Perform risk management to mitigate project risks. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Excellent leadership, planning, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. • Experience managing cloud-based initiatives; Amazon Web Services Gov Cloud experience preferred. • Proven working experience as a project manager in the information technology sector. • Excellent knowledge about all aspects of information technology specifically with complex environments. • Expert hands on knowledge of building a critical path and integrated plans. • Command of Sched   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
