Provide architectural guidance on strategies to improve operations and monitoring of current and future implementations. Prepare technical documentation and govern the configuration management of the database model and its encompassing parts. Provide guidance on the implementation of strategies needed to maintain security, backup and disaster recovery for databases. Requirements: Be able to work with clients, peers and management in a highly visible, mission critical environment. Provide troubleshooting of database instances in a SQL Server environment leveraging failover clustering and Hyper-V virtualization. Demonstrate ability to analyze resource bottlenecks and provide suggestions to team, management, and customers on how to alleviate pressure and plan for capacity. 5 years of experience providing MS SQL Server database design, development, and ongoing management and maintenance. Experience working closely with software developers to implement layered interfaces between applications and databases. Experience using MS SQL Server tools to administer databases. 5 years of experience architecting data and databases using ERDs and providing associated detailed documentation. Ability to work with other platforms (Oracle, MySQL, Firebird, etc.). Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL storage methodologies and their advantages and uses.
