Consultant (Jobs in MINNEAPOLIS, MN)   Requirement id 9095 Job title Consultant Job location in Minneapolis, MN Skills required MSI Technology, Microsoft MCDBA Certification, Microsoft MCM, Open Date 20-Mar-2012 Close Date Job type Contract to Hire Duration 5 Months Compensation DOE Status requirement --- Job interview type --- Apply    Email Recruiter: coolsoft Job Description Consultant: MSI Technology, Microsoft MCDBA Certification, Microsoft MCM, [Note: Start Date : 03/26/2012 End Date : 08/28/2012] [Note: Duration : 12+ months (Possible contract-to-hire)] Description: Provide 3rd level product support for over 400 applications; Investigate application issues and customer driven production problems; Identify and develop tools, techniques and procedures for improving the performance, availability and reliability of applications; work with development production support and technical infrastructure teams to design and refine processes, procedures and delivery mechanisms; act as a customer issue resolution engineer and take ownership of problems; ability to analyze existing code and determine recommended solutions; understand, capture, log, track and implement functional requests from clients; support deployment/upgrade issues; assist customers with troubleshooting live issues, diagnosing performance issues, devising solutions and workarounds, administration and configuration tasks; clearly communicate to customers the analysis of an issues causes, impact, and planned resolution; set customer expectations as to the resolution of an issue and availability of remedy; escalate issues when appropriate, providing issue details and feedback to other teams; prioritize issues and track progress of issues assigned inside and outside of support team; gain expertise in new functionality and new software releases; maintain FAQ knowledge base with up-to-date information useful for support and training; interface internally with other teams to product functionality, supportability, and quality. Improve the quality of the applications by sharing ideas to enhance Required Skills: ***3-5 years of application packaging experience using MSI and Install Shield technology*** -BS/BA or equivalent work background -5-10 years of experience in a distributed IT services and software support environment -3-5 years of front line customer service / field engineering support -3-5 years of project delivery to include systems implementation, enterprise software deployments and upgrades -Microsoft MCM or 5-10 years equivalent experience with application and operating systems integration -Microsoft MCDBA certification or 3+ years equivalent experience administering database systems -Microsoft MCPD or equivalent application development experience is a plus -Network plus certification or equivalent administration experience of IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switching/routing, and proxies Soft Skills: -Excellent interpersonal skills -Proficient problem solver -Has the ability to acquire new skills quickly -Thrive in a collaborative team environment -Well organized and thorough -Displays initiative and excellent judgment   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
