[NOTE: START DATE : 05-01-2014 END DATE : 07-31-2014] [NOTE: SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 04-15-2014] Description: PROJECT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: The objectives of this project are to provide a comprehensive analysis of MDCs current data environment and then make recommendations for the implementation of a future data environment that 1) Establishes a single source of the truth of MDCs tabular data; 2) Enhances data quality; 3) Develops best practices and data governance processes; 4) Provides a BI platform for automated data collection; 5) Provides an interface for MDC business users to be able to run their own reports thus making the information much more readily available to them. The analysis and documentation work would form the basis for future implementation work. This PAQ would form the first phase of this work. The primary objective of this phase would be to provide a roadmap for each of the above objectives in a phased implementation approach so that further work could then be appropriately scoped, selected, and engaged in subsequent PAQs. PROJECT APPROACH AND SCOPE OF WORK: Provide an assessment of MDCs current data environment. Based upon that assessment, create a business case and a roadmap with options for moving MDCs data environment into a future Business Intelligence Architecture that accomplishes the following: 1.Single source of the truth of business data 2.Automates the capture of business data 3.Delivers a self-service reporting environment for MDC business users. 4.Decreases manual effort of IT staff for reporting. 5.Enhances the quality of MDC data. 6.Develops best practices and data governance. 7.Provides adequate knowledge transfer to MDC staff for moving forward. State agencies may decide to break up projects into multiple PAQs. In that event, subsequent PAQs may be issued to the contractor that was awarded the initial PAQ without requesting competitive PAQs provided (1) the agency clearly indicates their intent to do so in the initial PAQ request and (2) the scope of the entire project is considered in the evaluation of the initial PAQ.
