Description :

A subject-matter expert (SME) or domain expert is a person who is an authority in a particular area or topic. The term domain expert is frequently used in expert systems software development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• The subject matter expert guides how one can achieve and resolve an organizational need and actively participates in all phases of the program.
• Have a deep understanding, knowledge, and experience in workers compensation and case management processes or technology.
• Research, analyze, and apply the Division of Workers Compensations (DWC) regulations and recommend amendments as required to meet the organizational needs.
• Assist the state project management team with day-to-day tasks related to DWC modernization.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and deliver the documentation needed for the project to be successful.
• Collaborate with the team and provide hands-on work on Request for Proposals (RFPs) for different phases/modules of the Modernization Program.
• As a subject matter expert, understand, articulate, and implement best practices related to DWC Modernization efforts.
• The subject matter expert may lead or be an active participant in a work-group with the need for specialized knowledge and a workstream.
• Analyze problems independently, research and recommend solution alternatives, and execute steps to address business process gaps, data issues, and external interface issues.
• Support DWC legal counsel to evaluate legislative mandates and system enhancements to assess and document impacts on the agencys modernization project.
• Provide support such as developing conversion strategies, test scenarios, reporting requirements, and performing validation testing for the core application and reports.
• Provide support for implementation activities, such as requirements analysis, development of business impact, and support the client User Acceptance Testing (UAT) effort.
• Daily interaction with the project management team and the Project Director toward DWC program modernization.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise in training programs, processes, and techniques.
• Oversee and assist in developing Training Support Packages (TSPs.)
• Oversee and advise on the development of practical and relevant training curriculums.
• Oversee requirements of specific technical, training, and support areas for different projects.
• Support Project Director with scope definition for multiple phases, requirements gathering, and other duties as assigned.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Strong writing skills and experience in developing a variety of written products.
• Experience taking poorly framed thoughts/objectives and formulating them into clear direction and actionable steps.
• Suggest new ideas/recommendations to enhance business adoption through lean process improvement and assist in implementing these in a systematic and defined manner.
• Support the Project Director in developing presentations and reports for senior management.
• Work with internal business units as well as technical team leaders.
• Maintain consistent communication between Business, Project, and IT groups to ensure information is clear, well-defined, and understood.
